Build a budget around your actual trip.
Separate shared costs from per-person spending, count nights and transfers, and compare complete quotes in Moroccan dirhams.
In this guide
Context: price the trip you intend to take
Begin with dates, travellers, room arrangements and an overnight plan. Write down whether your total includes travel to Morocco or starts at arrival. A seven-day visit may need six nights of accommodation, but your flights and check-in arrangements determine the actual count. Give every night a date and a place before multiplying prices. This guide supplies a way to build your own budget; it does not offer a typical daily cost or a current price range for Morocco.
Work out your trip total
Use your own quotes and allowances in Moroccan dirhams (MAD). Every amount covers the whole trip. This worksheet supplies no market prices.
Add accommodation, transport, other costs and your extra allowance. Then add meals and visits per person multiplied by the number of travellers. Divide the total by the number of travellers for an equal share. Enable JavaScript to use the worksheet.
Price your route’s nights.
Your saved route has changed. Review it before updating these nights.
Save a route to bring its stops and nights here. You can also enter accommodation directly in the worksheet below.
Plan your routeEnter your quoted price per night for all rooms and everyone, including quoted taxes. Check that dates and inclusions match.
Route accommodation
Only “Use this accommodation total” changes the worksheet below. Your other costs stay as you entered them.

Keep a version of your plan.
Calculate a total, then save its figures and accommodation allocation in My Trip. Each version keeps its own nights, even when your route changes.
Calculate your complete figures before saving. You can keep up to eight scenarios.
Loading replaces the figures on this page. It leaves your saved route and kept comparison unchanged.
Keep the unit beside every amount
The Moroccan National Tourist Office identifies the currency as the Moroccan dirham, abbreviated MAD and also written DH. Use MAD consistently in your working budget. Beside each quote, record its date, currency, quantity and unit: per room per night, per person, per vehicle or per group. Keep any foreign-currency charge in its original currency until you have a conversion basis for your own payment method. Record that basis and any confirmed fees separately; an assumed round-number exchange rate can make two totals look comparable when they are not.
Split shared costs from individual costs
A room quote for the whole room belongs in the shared column, once for each room and night. A ticket quoted per traveller belongs in the individual column, once for each person to whom that fare applies. Confirm the unit rather than inferring it from the size of the number. For a family, ask for the price for the exact party, including children’s ages and the proposed room arrangement. A total divided equally among adults is a way of sharing the bill, not proof that each person was charged the same rate.
Back to contentsCost the complete transfer
Make one line for getting from your accommodation to the departure point, another for the intercity journey, and another for reaching the next stay. Include the return or onward journey if your plan requires it. CTM’s official website links to its ticket-booking service; use a dated result for the actual travellers and journey before entering a coach cost. Record confirmed luggage or other charges separately. For a private transfer, ask whether the quote covers the vehicle or each passenger, which pickup and drop-off it includes, and whether waiting or extra stops change the amount.
Compare what is included, then compare the total
For two stays or tours, list the same items alongside each quote: nights, room arrangement, meals, transport, visits, taxes and any extras the provider specifies. Mark an unanswered item “not confirmed” rather than assigning it zero. If breakfast is explicitly included, do not count the same breakfast again in your food allowance. A deposit is part of the agreed total unless the terms say otherwise; record the amount already paid and the remaining balance without adding the deposit twice. Keep cancellation terms and the date a quote expires next to the price.
Give everyday spending and uncertainty their own lines
Add personal allowances for meals not included, local journeys, admission charges you have checked, shopping and any other choices you intend to make. Use your own limits or confirmed prices rather than a single label such as “budget traveller.” Keep a separate reserve chosen for your circumstances and identify the unresolved items it might need to cover. Do not hide those unknowns inside a precise-looking daily average. If you compare a lower and an upper total, state which room, transfer or activity choices change between them.
Back to contentsNext steps: compare two versions of the same journey
Add shared costs, individual costs for all travellers, personal allowances and your chosen reserve to produce a party total. Divide by the number of travellers only if an equal split is useful; divide by trip days only after stating which costs are included. Then compare a second version with one deliberate change: fewer bases, a different room choice or one fewer paid outing. Keep the dates, party and remaining assumptions fixed so the difference means something. Save the quote dates and refresh unbooked amounts before committing. Use the route outlines to count nights and moves, and the researched examples below to see how a price’s date, unit and inclusions affect the comparison.
Read the kind of price before comparing the number
A dated coach search tells you what the operator returned for one date and passenger selection. A published room tariff may have no date validity or room availability behind it. The examples below deliberately keep those categories apart. A starting fare is not a final checkout total, and a room tariff in euros cannot be added directly to a coach fare in dirhams. Keep the provider, date, unit and unresolved items with each amount; use the worksheet only after deciding which figures apply to your own trip.
Price examples, with their limits

Coach searches have specific travel dates. Room tariffs have no confirmed stay dates. Keep euros separate from MAD until you have a conversion basis for your payment.
