Before you arrive in Morocco

Find the official entry enquiry route, then put your first arrival into one usable note.

Start with your documents

Open the official Accès Maroc portal linked below. Its enquiry asks about your nationality, usual residence, passport type and purpose of travel, among other details. Answer for the documents you will actually use. Check each traveller separately, even when you share an itinerary. Maroc.net does not determine whether you need a visa or travel authorisation; use the official result and its current instructions to identify your next step.

Resolve an unclear answer before booking around it

If the portal does not cover your document or your circumstances are unclear, contact the Moroccan embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence. Use the official consular directory linked below: choose your country of residence, then look for the relevant city or region. Describe your nationality, travel-document type, residence and trip purpose, and ask which formalities apply to your planned journey. Official eVisa guidance directs relevant holders of other travel documents to the embassy or consulate. Do not substitute a friend's result for your own enquiry.

Keep the official answer with your travel plan

Record the source, date checked and any outstanding action. Read the conditions and document instructions for the route that applies to you, including any steps needed before travel; check again before departure. The eVisa guidance says its terms can change and that an eVisa does not guarantee entry. Keep confirmations and the documents requested by the authorities available for your journey. Our arrival note below is a planning aid, not a border-document checklist.

Name the exact place you will arrive

Write the airport, port or station shown on your booking, the arrival date and time, and the first accommodation's full address and contact details. Confirm the onward journey from that arrival point rather than from a city name alone. Ask the provider where you will meet, how to identify them, how to contact them and what happens if your arrival is delayed. Save the agreed details somewhere you can read offline.

Ask where the last part of the journey begins

For a medina stay, ask the accommodation for its recommended arrival point and directions from there to the door. Confirm whether the final stretch involves walking, steps or help with luggage, and explain any mobility needs precisely. For example: “We will arrive with two suitcases; where should we meet you, and what remains between that point and our room?” Use their answer to arrange a suitable arrival rather than assuming a map pin describes the whole approach.

Make the first night easy to use

Finish your note with four confirmed details: where you will sleep, when you can check in, how you will get there and whom to contact if plans change. If check-in is later than your arrival, agree where you can wait and what happens to your bags. Decide on a simple first meal near your accommodation once you know your arrival arrangements. Leave an ambitious first outing for after you have settled in; the first evening does not need to carry the whole trip.
